Vandy Marino Scholars
WELCOME OUR TEAM PAGE!
Six years and 19 graduate students ago, The Marino Family made a pledge to Vanderbilt's neuroscience graduate students. A pledge to put them into clinical arenas where bright young scientists were desperately needed. They endowed a program matching our best students with clinical experts in neurology, neurosurgery and psychiatry and putting them in the clinics, surgical suites and hosptials so they could more fully comprehend the diseases they were studying, walk thru the clinical experience with families and identify gaps in care that only science can fill.
This year, we'd like to help return the favor to the Marino family. We hope you'll join us in celebrating our great graduate students and the Foundation that had faith we could make this program work. We are striving to have 190 people to contribute $10 in support for the Annual Walk About Autism as a token of our gratitude for the faith the Marino family and DMFoundation has put in us.
For a your $10 contribution, you'll get your very own Certificate of Good Mojo from the Data Fairy entitling you to scads of good experimental vibes.
Please help us meet our goal. Your gift goes 100% to programs like this, services for individuals with disabilities and research.
Why we need your help:
There is no known cause or cure for autism. It is the fastest-growing developmental disorder, and according to the Center for Disease Control, 1 in 68 children in the United States have autism. Autism usually appears in early childhood, before the age of 3. Though symptoms and severity vary, autism affects a child's ability to communicate and interact with others.
The Dan Marino Foundation WalkAbout Autism & Expo, brought to you by Walgreens, presented by Badia Spices, will be held Saturday January 21, 2017 at Miami Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida. This is a great opportunity for us to work together and make a difference in the lives of the Autism Community.
Proceeds raised through this effort will support local South Florida organizations, including hundreds of participating local schools as well as The Dan Marino Foundation. What is really important to me is that all money raised here, stays here in South Florida!
Help Us Make A Difference!
